It has been an extremely busy term and I have no doubt that the boys are all looking forward to a well deserved Christmas break.
This term we welcomed a whole new group of reception boys. They learned about moving and clapping in time with different musical prompts and were introduced to the instruments of the orchestra by Peter and the Wolf. They took turns to pass around our musical friend “Ronald the monkey” and they were extremely proud if they had an opportunity to take “Ronald” back to their classroom as a special treat for good listening and super singing. Boys also excelled as they learned their words and songs for the annual Harvest Parent Assembly.
I love Christmas and after autumn half term life became very exciting as we prepared for the annual Christmas Service and learned some interesting facts about the ballet -The Nutcracker.
So finally, the Christmas Service. I am extremely proud of the boys and of their performance. They were confident, well prepared and sang with great energy and beauty. It really was quite moving.
This year we are building on the wonderful singing tradition here at WCPS and we continue to work towards becoming a ‘Singing School’.
