Children in Need

On Friday 13th November, children and staff members came to school in their pyjamas, slippers and dressing gowns for Children in Need. Our Autumn term School Council representatives had so many jobs to do! They organised a pyjama party in Orchard Hall with Pudsey Bear, collected £2 donations and filmed a special announcement for ‘Pudsey Creative Chef Competition’. Each Squirrel boy had the choice to take part in the competition where they had to bake or cook Pudsey themed foods with their families at home. The entries were incredible! The School Council then had the tricky job of choosing one winner from each class. A special well done to: Siddhant, Jake, Benedict, Oliver, Arjun, Alex Y, Lucas, Nathan and David for their winning creations.

Here are our Autumn School Council representatives’ afterthoughts on the fabulous fundraising event:

Year One School Council

“I liked doing the cooking. I liked making the posters”. Leo

“My favourite thing about Children in Need is I got to come into school in my pyjamas. My special job was to make a video telling everyone about ‘Pudsey Creative Chef Competition!’” Ayden

“I liked judging the competition, wearing pjs, giving out stickers and giving out certificates”. Hector

Year Two School Council

“My favourite part of Children in Need was the pyjamas. I had to vote for the cooking Pudsey contest”. Hawken

“My favourite thing about Children in Need was wearing pyjamas. I had to choose the Pudsey Creative Chef winners”. Arlo

“I liked coming into school in my pyjamas and I loved dancing with Pudsey Bear!” Daniel

The brilliant event organised by the School Council raised £370! A BIG thank you to our representatives, Pudsey Bear and to our WCPS families for their generous donations and baking/cooking assistance.
