Music Matters

It has been a very busy (and quite unusual!) term as the boys continued to enjoy their Music lessons online. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support as your sons submitted some fantastic Music homework on Seesaw this term.

Reception boys continued to develop their body percussion skills which this term included coming up with their own simple body percussion pattern. They have also enjoyed learning songs about transport in recent weeks. Years 1 and 2 have been learning more about instruments of the orchestra with a special focus on the woodwind and brass families of the orchestra.

The boys in Year 1 worked incredibly hard in their preparations for the Easter Assembly and I would like to thank you for supporting your sons in learning their song words – songs they sang with great enthusiasm.

Throughout the term boys in year 2 have been having great fun recording and ‘teaching the adults’ skills they have learned in Music via our Seesaw platform - anything from body percussion patterns to famous songs from the original film ‘The Sound of Music’.  It was such an encouragement to see how much the boys have grown in their confidence since the start of the year.

Long may the Music (and the singing!) continue as we look forward to another exciting and busy term ahead.

Have a restful and Happy Easter.

Miss Fourie
