BOOM… WHIZZ… POP… BANG…CRASH…it’s WCPS’ Science Day!

WCPS had an explosive start to our Science Day with a virtual assembly from GenieLab. The assembly was filled with breath-taking experiments from ferocious fire, foamy bubbles, expanding marshmallows to exploding fizzy drinks! The scientists, Jack and Lucy, left the children memorised and asking plenty of scientific questions.

Each year group then conducted a cool class workshop. Reception made foamy bubbles that went sky high! Year One and Two focused on Energy and made fantastic flip cards and crazy catapults.

To fit in with the British Science Week 2021 theme ’Innovating the Future’, WCPS held a poster competition encouraging the children to think about incredible inventions that can innovate for the future. Very well done to: Harry, Baxter, Kunyi, Niyrel, Nicholas D, Arjun Zayne, Arlo and Nicolas H for their superb winning invention posters. We hope they enjoy creating the experiments at home using their winning ‘Potions Class’ book.

A very BIG thank you to FoS for funding this super day!
