In May, Year 2 were very lucky to welcome two Mums, Dr Kerr and Dr Gawley, to their classrooms for paediatric first aid training.

In the first session, the boys listened to their hearts with stethoscopes, wore their own gloves and surgical masks to discuss germs and then looked at each other’s tonsils and eye reflexes to light.

The second session was about accident prevention and basic first aid with a focus on burns, bleeding and bruises, finishing with when and how to make a 999 call.

The boys thoroughly enjoyed both sessions and learnt a huge amount from them. We definitely have some budding doctors in our midst!

Our sincere thanks go to Dr Kerr and Dr Gawley for giving up their time to do this.
